Season Wrap Up
The 2007 River
Bandits overcame numerous injuries and the retirements of long-time
stars Joe Rukamp, Nick Olmsted, Brett Spaeth, Bryan Spaeth, Matt Frank,
Bill Bildings, and Brian Lemmens to finish 4th in the prestigious NEW
Baseball League. Staff ace Erik Olson led the Bandits pitching staff,
while speed on the base paths and solid defense despite many players
have to play out of position due to injuries kept the Bandits
competitive in the NEWBL. They finished with a 17-17 overall record.

River Bandits Open Up Tournament Play!

tournament play on August 7th...they finish NEW Baseball League play in
fourth place and will host the Menasha Macs in a best-of-three series
starting Tuesday, August 8th, 7:30PM, Van den Plas Field, Green Bay
Southwest High School. The game has been moved because De Pere is
the only team in the NEW Baseball League that does not have a lighted

the NWB League standings link to the left.
NWBL News - 2007 Season Standings as of 08-05-07
The standings in the NEW Baseball
league can significantly change with the outcome of the Sheboygan A's
/Green Bay Storm game that will take place Monday night at Van den Plas
Field, Green Bay Southwest High School, on Monday night Aug.06.
The De Pere River Bandits now await the outcome of the Green Bay
Storm-Sheboygan A's game Monday night to determine their seeding for
the NEWBaseball League playoffs. A Green Bay win will drop the
Bandits into fifth place by virtue of tie breakers. An A's win
gives the River Bandits the fourth seed, and they would then face the
Menasha Macs in a three game series. A Sheboygan win,
though, ties the A's with Appleton for 2nd place in league, and drops
the Appleton Legends to the third seed. The top two teams get
first round byes in the league championship tournament. The top
seed hosts the first and third games of the series.
The NEW Baseball League teams are primarily made up of present and
former college baseball players from Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota
schools.
