De Pere ace Erik Olson held the heavy-hitting Mac’s scoreless over 9 innings, striking out 6, walking none, and allowing just three hits.

De Pere scored in the first when 2B Jeff Riddle led off with a walk, stole second, and RF Tony Jandron RBI singled.  Jandron scored on a passed ball.

In the fourth inning, C Jordan Stauber walked, SS Bob Van Rens sacrificed him to second, LF Nic Spaeth’s single moved him to third, and scored on a Mac error.

DH Kyle Kopitzke led off the fifth with a single, and 3B Greg Fisher sacrificed him to second. Riddle singled driving in Kopitzke, advanced on a ground out by CF Charlie McGinn, and scored on a Mac error. De Pere scored their sixth run in the sixth when Stauber walked and stole second, and Van Rens singled. 

Riddle was 2x3 for an RBI. Greg Fisher also singled.

08.08.07 @  Koslo Field   De Pere  3   Menasha  12

The Mac’s slammed 14 hits enroute to the win.  Starter Brett Yost left the game with an injury in the fifth inning and was replaced by Kevin Hoeksema. The duo walked three.  The Bandits committed just one error.  Ten of the Mac runs were earned. 

Seven Bandits had lone hits, with C Kyle Kopitzke’s double driving in LF Nic Spaeth in the second after Spaeth had reached on an error. The Bandits plated two more runs in the fifth when DH Aaron Linssen singled, 3B Greg Fisher walked, 2B Jeff Riddle singled, and RF Tony Jandron singled in Fisher and Riddle after Linssen was picked off at second.

This game evened the best-of-three series to a game apiece.

08.09.07  @  Van den Plas Field     De Pere  3   Menasha Macs  13

The experienced draftees and college graduateof the Macs continued to pummel Bandit pitching, while the banged-up Bandits failed to come up with the big hit in the loss which ended the River Bandit’s 2007 campaign.

Five Bandit pitchers faced the torrid Mac’s line-up, giving up a total of 18 hits.  They issued only 2 walks, and there was only one Bandit error. 

The Bandits had men on in all but two innings, but could only score runs in the sixth when CF Charlie McGinn walked and starting pitcher Tony Jandron doubled.  Mike Brunette drove a ball deep to right, just foul, and then flew out to 2B.  Jordan Stauber reached and Charlie McGinn scored on an error, and LF Nic Spaeth delivered an RBI single.  Veteran SS Bob Van Rens delivered another RBI single. 

Van Rens also smashed a double in the eighth in perhaps the last at bat of a storied career.  Bob is one of the most accomplished shortstops ever \
from the Green Bay area, a starter for Carthage College, and an All-Star River Bandit in both the Shoreland and NEW Baseball Leagues, playing with the Bandits for 11 of the club’s 13 seasons.  Bob is currently the Athletic Director at Our Lady of Lourdes School and the Varsity Assistant baseball coach at De Pere High School.

Charlie McGinn went 3x4 with a run scored, and Jeff Riddle and Greg Fisher also had singles.  Fisher also hit a towering fly just foul with a man on in the eighth. 

8/01/07 @ Greenville     De Pere 1    Stars  3
The Dairyland League Greenville Stars upended the River Bandits, scoring all three of their  runs in the fifth inning of the 7-inning game.  The River Bandits scored a run in the top of the fifth when 2B Jeff Riddle singled, stole second and third, and scored on an overthrow. 

Starting pitcher Jordan Stauber allowed only three baserunners until the Star’s fifth, when three runs were scored on a double, two singles, and a Bandit error.  Riddle relieved Stauber in the fifth, and he got a ground out to end the inning.

Stauber struck out 4, walked one, and scattered 4 hits in 4.6 innings.  Riddle allowed no hits and stuck out one in relief.  Riddle also went 2x4 and stole three bases.

08/03/07 @ Marinette    De Pere 3   Redbirds 2
The Redbirds of the Wischigan League held the River Bandits scoreless until the top of the ninth, when Mike Brunette singled, Jordan Stauber was hit by a pitch, Tony Jandron sacrificed, and Kyle Kopitzke doubled scoring Brunette and Stauber.  Aaron Linssen was also hit by a pitch, and Bob Van Rens delivered the game-winning sacrifice fly RBI.

The Redbirds had scored two runs in the third on an error, a walk, sacrifice, and an RBI single.

Jeff Riddle and Charlie McGinn also hit safely.

Starting pitcher Brett Yost went 8 innings for De Pere. He struck out 4, walked 3, and gave up just two hits.  Riddle relieved Yost in the ninth striking out 1, walking two, and allowing no runs on one hit.

CF Charlie McGinn scored in the first inning after he singled, advanced on SS Tony Jandron’s ground out, and was plated by 1B Mike Brunette’s RBI single.

The Bandits managed only four baserunners in the next six innings, but in the seventh the Bandits scored three runs when  RF Aaron Linssen singled, DH Kyle Kopitzke drew a walk,  pinch hitter Dick Bos singled, McGinn walked, Jandron hit into a fielder’s choice, and Brunette reached on an error. 

07.29.07@ Redbird Field   De  Pere  0    Appleton Legends 6
Tied 0-0 in the fifth, Appleton plated two runs on three singles and scored again in the seventh on four singles while Appleton starter and former Carthage College ace John Hendrick shut out the Bandits.  Catcher Jeff Riddle, Nic Spaeth, Jordan Stauber, and Erik Olson were the only Bandits who collected hits.

Bandit starter Tony Jandron went six innings with Kevin Hoeksema finishing the seventh in relief.  Jandron struck out 5, walked two, and allowed 6 hits in six innings.  He allowed 2 earned runs, and Hoeksema allowed three on four hits, a walk, and a strikeout.

07.29.07 @ Redbird Field    De Pere 6   Appleton Legends 2
The River Bandits got a season-best performance from Brett Yost on the mound to defeat the NBC State Champion Appleton Legends in the NEW Baseball League finale game for De Pere.  Yost worked all seven innings striking out three, walking two, and scattering just 5 hits, allowing just 1 earned run.

The Bandits scored two runs in the first on a walk to lead-off Jeff Riddle, a sacrifice by Charlie McGinn, an RBI single by Nic Spaeth, and an RBI single by Tony Jandron.  In the second, the Bandits plated another run on a single by Greg Fisher, a sacrifice by Riddle, and a single by McGinn. 

Tied at 2-2, the Bandits scored in the third when catcher Jordan Stauber led off with a walk and was sacrificed to second by Bob Van Rens.  Tony Jandron’s fielder’s choice plated Stauber.  In the fifth, the Bandits scored their final run when McGinn singled and stole second, Spaeth sacrifice bunted him to third, and Stauber’s sac fly drove him home.

Charlie McGinn was 2x2 and Greg Fisher was 2x3 for De Pere.  Tony Jandron had two RBI’s.

In a repeat of the first meeting of these two teams in June, the Bandits delivered another gutty performance, defeating the A’s in extra innings.

De Pere scored in first on 2B Jordan Stauber’s RBI single after SS Jeff Riddle led off with a single and Mike Brunette walked.  Catcher Brunette re-injured his ankle rounding second and had to leave the game.  Stauber replaced him behind the plate.

The A’s plated two runs in the third on three hits, and another in the fifth on back-to-back doubles. De Pere ace Erik Olson and gritty Bandit defense held the A’s scoreless the rest of the way.

In the fifth, De Pere scored two runs on a single by Stauber, a sacrifice by outfielder Linssen, and a single by pitcher Olson, and a Sheboygan error.  The Bandits stranded two baserunners in the ninth and loaded the bases in the tenth but did not score.  In the 11th  Aaron Linssen led off with a walk, and Olson sacrificed him to second.  3B Greg Fisher singled, and first baseman Brett Yost completed the suicide sacrifice to drive in the winning run.

Olson went the distance, striking out 8 and walking two, allowing 10 hits.  He also had three hits.  Stauber and Riddle had two hits each. 

07.25.07 @ Sheboygan    De Pere  4    Sheboygan A’s  7
De Pere was one swing away from a different ballgame when leading the A’s by a run on a 2-2 count, the A’s Grant Berkowitz (UW-M, D1)delivered a grand slam home run to put the A’s on top 6-2. 

The Bandits scored in the second when Jordan Stauber singled, Bob Van Rens sacrificed, and Aaron Linssen delivered an RBI single.   They plated another run in the fourth when Stauber and Van Rens singled and sacrificed again, and Aaron Linssen delivered the RBI single.  Center fielder Joe Faulds then singled, but later ended his season with a broken hand diving back into first on a questionable call at home plate. 

The Bandits rallied in the fifth when Tony Jandron and Mike Brunette walked, Stauber singled, and Van Rens delivered a 2 RBI single. Sheboygan added insurance run in the fifth on two singles and a De Pere error.  Jeff Riddle held the A’s scoreless in relief in the 7th.

Yost and Riddle scattered 9 hits, walked 4, and struck out one.  Aaron Linssen was 3x4, and Jordan Stauber was 2x4.  Each had 2 RBI’s. 

07.25.07 @ Sheboygan   De Pere   2   Sheboygan A’s  13
Shaken by the injury to regular Faulds,  the Bandits scored their only two runs in the fourth on a single by Jordan Stauber, a walk to Bob Van Rens, a A’s error, and an RBI single by Aaron Linssen. 

Tony Jandron pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed 5 runs in the A’s first on five hits before leaving the game after having been hit in the chest by a line drive.  Jordan Stauber finished the inning for Jandron.  The A’s plated another 5 runs in the inning on 4 hits and a walk.  Four of the runs were charged to Jandron.Kevin Hoeksema came in to relieve Stauber in the fourth.  The A’s plated three runs on two hits and a walk.Stauber was 2x2 for the Bandits.

07.20.07  De Pere  2   Appleton Legends 1
De Pere ace Erik Olson established himself as a premier pitcher in the NEW League by leading the Bandits to the win.  Olson went all 9 innings striking out 8, walking  3, and scattering 7 hits against the perennial NEW power Legends.  The Legends are the defending state National Baseball Congress champions and have won more NEW titles than any other team.

Appleton scored it’s lone run in the first on three straight hits.  The Bandits had a chance to score in the 5th when Jordan Stauber and DH Kyle Kopitzke had back-to-back singles to lead off the inning, but the rally died on a fly-out, a ground-out and a strikeout. Nic Spaeth also singled for the Bandits in the sixth.  In the seventh, right fielder Tony Jandron led off with a walk and Stauber sacrificed him to second.  Kopitzke then delivered the game-tying RBI single. 
The Bandits plated the winning run in the top of the ninth when second baseman Stauber collected his second single,  Kopitzke walked, third baseman Greg Fisher was hit by a pitch, and center fielder Joe Faulds delivered the go-ahead RBI single.

Olson walked the first batter in the ninth, but retired the next three in order, striking out the lead-off hitter for the win.

With many players in unfamiliar positions due to injury, and pitchers Tony Jandron and Cory Williams struggling to find the plate, 12 Storm batters were given free passes and key errors were committed by the Bandits while the Bandit offense never untracked.

Storm pitching held the Bandits to just four hits by Charlie McGinn, Mike Brunette, Jordan Stauber, and Erik Olson in the seven inning game shortened by the run rule.
Jandron went four innings and was replaced by William with no one out in the fifth.  The duo gave up 8 hits and the 12 free passes.

07.18.07    De Pere  3   Menasha 2
Tony Jandron scored in the first inning after reaching on a Mac error, then scored on Mike Brunette’s fielder’s choice.  In the third, Jeff Riddle singled and scored on a single by Jandron. Brunette plated Jandron with a double.

Mac pitcher Mike Lloyd held the Bandits scoreless the rest of the way as he scattered doubles by Cory Williams, Nic Spaeth, and Riddle.

Bandit starter Brett Yost did the rest of the work for De Pere, who in front of just one Bandit error, allowed single runs in the third and fifth.  Jeff Riddle faced the last two Mac batters, getting the final out with men on second and third when he tipped Ryan Hinske’s liner up the middle, Jandron tracked it down, and threw out Hinske.  Yost struck out 6 and did not issue a walk in 8 1/3.

Manitowoc    De Pere   6    Manitowoc  Bandits  5
After dropping the 1-0, 11-inning defensive duel early in the season, and staying close through 5 for both games of the June double header with NEW Baseball League leader Bandits, the River Bandits finally outlasted Manitowoc to take one game of their 4-game series. 
 
The Bandits scored their lead-off hitter for the third straight game when Jeff Riddle walked, Charlie McGinn sacrificed him to second, Nic Spaeth singled, and Jordan Stauber drove in Riddle with a fielder’s choice.

Manty plated a run in the second on a double and a single off starter Erik Olson. De Pere answered with two runs in the third when Riddle and McGinn walked and sacrificed.  Jordan Stauber RBI singled, Kevin Hoeksema reached on an error, and Aaron Linssen plated McGinn with a single.

Manitowoc
scored a single run in the 4th on a walk and a double, and scored again in the 5th on a double, a single, and a passed ball. The River Bandits answered with a single run when McGinn walked, Nic Spaeth singled, and Jordan Stauber delivered a sac fly to score McGinn.  They came back in the 7th to score two more runs on singles by Nic Spaeth, Jordan Stauber, and RBI single by Joe Faulds, and an RBI walk issued to Greg Fisher. 

Manitowoc rallied in the eighth on an error, a walk, a passed ball, and a single.  Starter Erik Olson held issuing two strikeouts and holding the Bandits scoreless in the 9th for the win.

Nic Spaeth was 3x5, Stauber went 2x4, and Joe Faulds had two hits for the River Bandits.Olson went the distance.  He struck out 11, walked three, and gave up 7 hits.  There were 2 River Bandit errors.

With the win the River Bandits are now 5-5 in NEW Baseball League play, 10-9 overall.
07.12.07 @ Denmark    De Pere  4   Denmark 2
De Pere plated a run in the first when lead-off batter Jeff Riddle slammed a solo home run.  Jordan Stauber also singled in the first inning.

The Devil Bears of the Shoreland League answered in their half of the second when starting pitcher Brett yost got two quick outs, then yielded three straight singles before a strikeout ended the half-inning. De Pere responded scoring a single run in the third when Riddle doubled, Charlie McGinn singled scoring Riddle. 

Denmark again tied the game in the fifth on a River Bandit error, a single, and and RBI fielder’s choice. The River Bandits pulled away in the sixth when McGinn and Stauber singled, Kevin Hoeksema was hit by a pitch, and Aaron Linssen delivered a 2 RBI single.

Denmark starter Lawton Pieschek was relieved by Mitch Kouba in the sixth, who took the loss. The duo gave up 8 hits, struck out 6, and walked one.  There were no Denmark errors. Yost went the distance striking out 6, walking one, and issuing 7 hits.  There was one River Bandit error.

The River Bandits battled back from a 4-2 deficit to send the game into extra innings before letting
Storm score a run in the 11th on a single and a throwing error. Both teams scored a single run in the first.  Storm’s Alex Byrne of De Pere opened the game with a single and scored on a De Pere throwing error.  The River Bandit’s Jeff Riddle had a lead-off double and was driven in by Nic Spaeth’s single after Charlie McGinn singled. 

Storm plated three in the third on a walk, a hit batsmen, a wild pitch, and a single. Riddle scored again in the third when he worked a walk from pitcher Byrne, stole second, and was driven in by Mike Brunette. In the seventh, Aaron Linssen singled and Riddle worked Byrne for another walk. McGinn singled again, and Nic Spaeth singled in Linssen. Brunette singled in Riddle to tied the game at 4 apiece.

Erik Olson relieved starter Kevin Hoeksema in the seventh. He struck out 7 in five innings, and allowed 5 hits and walked 2.  Hoeksema allowed 6 hits and walked 4 in the first seven.  Only two of the Storm runs were earned. For De Pere, Nic Spaeth was 3x5 with 2 RBI’s,  and Charlie McGinn was 3x6.  Mike Brunette and Jeff Riddle were 2x4. Brunette had 2 RBI’s and Riddle scored three of De Pere’s runs. 

07.07.07 @ Redbird Field    De Pere River Bandits  2  Greenville  5  

Greenville plated three runs in the second on three singles,  two walks, and a River Bandit error.  They scored two more in the sixth on two more singles and another De Pere error.

The Bandits had baserunners in 5 of 7 innings, but could only tally runs in the fourth when Nic Spaeth and Jordan Stauber singled, Kevin Hoeksema reached on a fielder’s choice,and Kyle Kopitzke singled in Spaeth.  A
Greenville error put Aaron Linssen on, and a walk drawn by Greg Fisher scored Hoeksema.

Nic Spaeth was 2x3 for the Bandits.  Brett Yost took the loss, with Mike Brunette in relief.  The duo gave up 10 hits, struck out 5, and walked three.  There were 3 Bandit errors, and only three runs were earned.

07.06.07      Nic Spaeth Leads NEW Baseball League All-Stars to Win

Hosted by the Manitowoc Bandits, the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League All- Stars defeated the All-Stars from the Southeastern Wisconsin Frank Langsdorf Baseball League by the score of 11-6.  Players were chosen from the six teams in the college-prep NEW League.

Nic Spaeth (UMD, UWGB) of the De Pere River Bandits went 3x3 with one RBI and two runs scored in the game, and was named the game’s MVP.  Right-hander Erik Olson (Univerity of St. Thomas) also represented De Pere, facing the minimum in the inning he pitched.

Kyle Schroeder of the Manitowoc Bandits and  NCAA D.3 #16 Luther College won the Home Run Derby before the game with nine homers.  Schroeder was named Player of the Year in the IIAC for 2007. 

07.06.07 @ Lakemen Field    De Pere River Bandits  6   Waupaca Lakemen 0

Pitchers Tony Jandron, Kevin Hoeksema, and Jordan Stauber combined for a 1-hitter shutting out Waupaca 6-0 in a non-league contest.

The River Bandits scored a single run in the third when Joe Faulds and Cory Williams singled, Jeff Riddle drew a walk, and Jandron singled in Faulds. In the fifth, Williams led off with a double, and Riddle doubled him in.  Charlie McGinn moved Riddle to third and then stole second.  Mike Brunette walked, and Stauber drove in Riddle and McGinn with a single.  Hoeksema then delivered a two RBI-double plating Brunette and Stauber.

The trio of pitchers issued four walks and struck out 9.  There was one Bandit error.

07.02.07 @ Koslo Park, Menasha   De Pere 19  Menasha 6

On a rough, dry field at Koslo Park, Menasha committed more errors than runs they scored, and the River Bandits powered their way to a win with dominating offense behind solid pitching, despite their own shaky defense.

De Pere tied the game in the top of the third scoring two runs when Jeff Riddle was hit by a pitch and Charlie McGinn tripled him home.  McGinn scored on a Tony Jandron single.  Menasha answered with a run in the bottom of the third, but De Pere took the lead in the three-run fourth on a single by Riddle, three walks, and two Menasha errors.

De Pere scored a single run in the sixth when Mike Brunette, Nic Spaeth, and Jordan Stauber singled, but the Mac’s responded with a single run in the fifth on two singles, two walks, and two Bandit errors.

Tied 6-6,  the Bandits erupted for 6 runs in the top of the seventh on singles by Brunette, Spaeth, Joe Faulds, Greg Fisher, and walks to McGinn and Jandron.  Jeff Riddle came on in relief of Olson, and he retired the Macs in order, facing the minimum the rest of the way.  The Bandits poured on the offense, scoring two more in the eighth and five more in the ninth on hits singles by McGinn, Brunette, and Aaron Linssen, and a 3-run home run by Tony Jandron.

06.30.07 Battle of the Bandits goes to Manitowoc

The Manitowoc Bandits play a 50+ game schedule in both the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League and the venerable Wisconsin State League, two of the most respected semi-pro/amateur baseball leagues in Wisconsin and Illinois.  They showed their campaigner quality on Saturday at De Pere, outlasting  the De Pere River Bandits in both 7-inning games of the double header at Redbird Field.  De Pere’s young hitters couldn’t deliver RBI’s,  while Manitowoc used their power and De Pere dropped both games by scores of 5-2 and 7-5.

In the first game, Jeff Riddle led of with a single followed by a Charlie McGinn single,  and Mike Brunette doubled in Riddle.  In the third, McGinn singled again, and he was played by Tony Jandron’s double.  Mantiwoc pitcher Matt Phipps allowed only one baserunner the rest of the way for the win. McGinn and Brunette were the only Bandits to have multiple hits.  Losing pitcher Brett Yost allowed just four hits and walked 6.  Manitowoc had two home runs including a 3-run homer in the first. 

In the second game, the two teams battled to a 2-2 tie through 4 innings.  Riddle scored in the first after having been hit by a pitch to lead off the game, and was singled in by Brunette.  In the second inning, Jordan Stauber reached on an error, was moved to second on a sacrifice by Erik Olson, and was driven in on Joe Fauld’s RBI single. The Bandits stranded McGinn in the thrid and the fifth, and Stauber and Greg Fisher in the fourth after Stauber doubled and Faulds reached on an error. 

After Manitowoc plated three runs in the 5th, the River Bandits anwered with 3 in the sixth when Nic Spaeth singled, Stauber doubled, and Olson delivered a 2-RBI double.  Joe Faulds single in Olson, but Riddle moved him to third with a single and stole second, but the rally ended there. With the score tied at 5, Manitowoc plated the go-ahead run in the 6th on two single and a sac fly. They brought home an insurance run in the 7th on a bloop and and a bad-hop single.  The Bandits left 3 on in the 7th on singles by Brunette, Stauber, and Olson, but could not drive them in. 

Jordan Stauber was 3 x 3 for De Pere, while Erik Olson was 2 x 3, and McGinn and Brunette had two hits each. Iowa Conference Player of the Year Kyle Schroeder of No. 16 ranked Luther College was 3 x 4 in the game.  Jordan Bischel was the winning pitcher for Manitowoc, allowing 13 River Bandit hits.  There were two Manitowoc errors.  Kevin Hoeksema took the loss with Jeff Riddle relieving him in the 7th.  The duo gave up 10 hits and there was 1 River Bandit error.

Sunday’s game with Menasha was a last-minute forfeit cancellation.  The River Bandits are now 3-4 in NEW Baseball League play, and 6-7 overall.  On Friday, the River Bandits will split their squad, sending several Bandits including ace Erik Olson to the NEW Baseball League All-Star Game at Manitowoc.  The NEW All-Starts will face the Southeastern League All-Stars from the greater Milwaukee area, including a home run derby beginning at 6 PM.  The rest of the River Bandits will travel to Waupaca for a 7:30P contest against the Waupaca Lakemen of the Badger Amateur Baseball Association.

06.23.07  @ Koslo Park, Menasha    De Pere  0     Brownsville  7

In the opening round of the National Baseball Congress Tournament Wisconsin/Upper Midwest Regional, the Bandits were shut out by Tyler Witkowski of the Brownsville All-Stars.  De Pere had six hits. Jeff Riddle led the Bandits going  2x3 with a double.  Witkowski struck out 9 and did not walk a batter. 

De Pere starter Erik Olson went 5 innings, striking out 5, walking none.  Riddle relieved  Olson  in the sixth inning facing the minimum.   There were two Bandit errors, both leading to Brownsville scores.  Riddle was also named player of the game in the loss.   De Pere was eliminated from the tournament.  

06.19.07  @  Van den Plas Field, GB SW HS     River Bandits 6   Storm 8
The Bandits jumped out to 6-0 lead scoring two runs in the first when Jeff Riddle walked, Nic Spaeth was hit by a pitch,  Jordan Stauber’s sacrifice, and Greg Fishers 2 RBI single.

They scored two more in the second when Joe Faulds and Charlie McGinn singled, and Jeff Riddle’s single. In the fourth, Riddle homered, plating McGinn who had doubled. 

The Storm scored a single run in the fifth and two in the sixth on a home run, but in the seventh, starting pitcher Brett Yost was relieved by Kevin Hoeksema after allowing another homer, a single and a double.  Hoeksema allowed another homer and a single, giving the Storm a 2-run lead. 

Yost, Hoeksema, and Jeff Riddle in relief of Hoeksema in the ninth game up 8 hits, walked one, and struck out 7.  There were 2 River Bandit errors. Charlie McGinn was 3x4, and  Jeff Riddle was 2x4  with a homer, and 3 RBI’s.  Nic Spaeth was also 2x4.

It took 11 innings, but the River Bandits slipped ahead of the Sheboygan A’s on 8 commanding innings from relief pitcher Erik Olson.  3 x 6 at the plate, 2B Jeff Riddle went the last two giving up three hits, two of them infield hits, for the win and the save.

The A’s scored two runs in the bottom of the first when starting pitcher Tony Jandron issued a walk to the lead-off hitter, giving up two singles and a sacrifice.  He was unable to continue because of a back injury, and in the second inning Erik Olson took the mound in relief. Olson held the A’s scoreless until the 6th when a double, a sacrifice, and a Bandit error led to two runs.

The Bandits went hitless until the seventh, when  three runs were scored on a walk to Joe Faulds, singles by Charlie McGinn and Jeff Riddle, and Nic Spaeth’s double. In the eighth, the Bandits tied the game when Greg Fisher walked, and  scored on an A’s error and a sacrifice.The tie was broken in the eleventh when Riddle singled, Spaeth sacrificed him to second, Olson singled and scored on a wild pitch, and Mike Brunette’s fielder’s choice scored Riddle.

 Jandron gave up 2 hits and a walk in the first for the Bandits, then Olson struck out 12, walking two and issued 4 hits over the next 8 innings.  Riddle went the last two striking out 1, walking 1, allowing 3 hits.  There were three Bandit errors.  Riddle also went 3x6 and scored two runs.

06.15.07 @ Appleton   De Pere River Bandits 3   Appleton Legends 9
The five-time champions of the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League pounded out 14 hits to defeat the young River Bandits.  The Legends scored first in the bottom of the first as they plated three runs on four straight hits, a walk, and a hit batsman.

The River Bandits responded scoring two in the top of the 4th on singles by Mike Brunette, a walk to Joe Faulds, and an RBI single by Kyle Kopitzke, and another single by Erik Olson. De Pere plated another run in the top of the sixth when Jordan Stauber walked, Greg Fisher sacrificed him to second, and Kopitzke delivered another RBI single to briefly tie the game.  The Legends came back in the bottom of the inning scoring a single run on back-to-back doubles. 

In the seventh, the Legends plated two more on three singles and a Bandit error.  Starting pitcher Brett Yost was relieved by Jeff Riddle in the eighth.  Riddle allowed three hits including a double, and one Bandit error led to three more runs.

Yost gave up 11 hits and walked two, striking out one.  Kopitzke and Erik Olson each had two of the Bandits 8 hits.  The Legends three pitchers issued 6 walks and four strike outs.

06.13.07  @  Manitowoc        De Pere 0   Manitowoc 1
In a defensive duel, the Manitowoc Bandits broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the 10th when they plated a single run on two consecutive hits to defeat the River Bandits 1-0.  The River Bandits committed the only error in the game, a dropped fly ball in the third.

For De Pere Jeff Riddle (DPHS, Luther), Nic Spaeth (DPHS) , Mike Brunette (WDPHS, UM-D), and Charlie McGinn had singles.  In the top of the ninth with McGinn and Brunette at 1st and 3rd, the Bandits attempted a delayed double steal, with Brunette being thrown out at home on a great save by Bandits catcher, Iowa Insterscholastic Conference  Player of the Year Kyle Schroeder of Luther College. 

Tony Jandron  pitched the first seven innings giving up three hits, striking out 8, and walking one.  He was relieved by Kevin Hoeksema in the 8th.  Hoeksema also allowed three hits, walked three, and gave up the one earned run.

06.10.07 @ Redbird Field, De Pere     River Bandits 4  Green Bay Storm 1
De Pere starting pitcher Erik Olson limited the Storm to just 5 hits over eight innings as the River Bandits downed the Storm 4-1.

The Bandits scored first in their half of the third when Kevin Hoeksema reached on a Storm error, Jeff Riddle was hit by a pitch,  and Nic Spaeth sacrificed.  An errant throw scored Hoeksema.  Tony Jandron then hit into a 5-4-3 double play, but Mike Brunette followed with a single to drive in Riddle.

De Pere scored again in the fifth when Nic Spaeth singled, was sacrificed to second by Jandron, went to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a Storm error.In the sixth De Pere added an insurance run when Joe Faulds led off with a double, and Jeff Riddle singled him in.The Storm scored their lone run in the fifth then Mike Wallgrish singled and came home on the lone Bandit error.

Brian Perzek was 3 x 4 for the Storm, while Tony Jandron was 2 x 3 for De Pere.  Charlie McGinn also had a single for De Pere.Olson walked two in eighth innings.  He was relieved by Nick Olmsted in the ninth, who faced the minimum striking out two. The River Bandits are now 1-1 in Northeastern League play, and 4-1 overall.
